Apply a new license to an existing SPSS Stats installation
​without reinstalling the application
​

You must obtain a new SPSS Statistics license before you can continue with the steps below. If you have not yet obtained a new license code, please visit https://ithelp.alliant.edu/statistics, to request a new license.

1) Open your "SPSS Statistics" application. Select menu option "File" and then "Manage License" at the bottom of the list, as shown below:

2) At the Manage License screen, select "Launch License Wizard", as shown below:

3) At the Product Authorization screen, select the radio button for the option "Authorized user license …" and then select "Next", as shown below:

4) At the Enter Codes screen, copy/paste your license code in the "Enter Code:" text box, next select "Add", and then select "Next", as shown below:
Note: Your license code will have been emailed to you, after your submission of a SPSS license request form.

5) At the Internet Authorization Status screen, select "Next", you should see a green Authorization succeeded message, as shown below:
Note: If you receive an error message, you may have entered an incorrect license code or may not be connected to the Internet. Please verify and try the licensing process again.

6) At the Licensing Completed screen, select "Finish", as shown below:

7) At the Restart IBM SPSS Statistics screen, select "Restart", as shown below: ​This will restart your computer and then you will be able to use SPSS.
