Jan Cone Scholarship
We are pleased to announce that one Jan Cone Scholarship will be awarded for the 2016-2017 school year! Last year, the scholarship was awarded to a CFT student at the Los Angeles campus. The 2016-17 Jan Cone Scholarship amount will be $5,000 dollars. Current master's and doctoral CFT students (or confirmed applicants who enrolls for Fall 2016) are eligible to apply for the Jan Cone Scholarship.
The Jan Cone Scholarships will be given to a deserving student based on the following guidelines:
1. Financial Need
2. Strong Commitment to Minority, Family, and Community Work
3. Professional Aspirations
4. Leadership Potential
Eligibility:
1. Applicant must be a master's or doctoral CFT student or confirmed applicant.
2. Applicant should have at least a 3.5 GPA and be in good academic standing.
3. Those awarded must remain enrolled and in good academic standing for each semester the award is granted.
How can the award be used?
Scholarship funds may be used for education-related expenses, including tuition, books, school supplies, room and board or transportation.
When will the award be issued?
Scholarships will be awarded in the Fall semester when proof of enrollment has been submitted. Half of the scholarship will be dispersed in Fall 2016, and the remaining will be dispersed Spring 2017. All applicants will be notified of the results in writing via mail by June 1, 2016.
Program Limits:
Once submitted the application becomes the property of Alliant International University. Alliant International University is not responsible for applications lost, misplaced, or delayed through the mail.
Application Process:
1. Completed and Signed Application
2. Personal Statement: (12 pt. Font) 2 page double spaced personal statement outlining the following areas:
◘ Your background.
◘ Your experiences with diversity and your commitment to serve under-served, minority families and communities.
◘ Your commitment to helping the seriously troubled live healthy, productive lives.
◘ Your professional aspirations and leadership experiences.
◘ Your financial needs.
3. Current Transcript. Continuing students may print unofficial copies through MyAlliant. Students who are enrolling for the first time Fall 2016 should submit a copy of the official transcripts (originals are not required since they were submitted with the admissions application).
4. Current Vita or Resume that includes a list of work experiences.
5. Application deadline is April 21, 2016.
