What is Happening?
Starting in January, 2025 ​Alliant is switching video platforms from Kaltura to Canvas Studio.

What will happen to my Kaltura videos?
Videos uploaded to Kaltura after June 1, 2024 will be ported over to Canvas Studio. Videos will appear in Canvas studio in time for the January course starts.

Videos uploaded to Kaltura prior to June 1, 2024 will be deleted on January 15th, 2025.  You can download older Kaltura videos and save them to your computer.  Instructions are below.

How do I download and save a Kaltura video?
Access the "My Media" link in the left navigation of any Canvas course
  • Log in to the course
  • Select the "My Media" link​ (1)
  • Select the EDIT button from the video you wish to download (2)

Select the format of the download
  • Select "Downloads" (1)
  • Make sure "Original Source" is checked (2)
  • Click "Save" (3)
  • If done correctly, you will see the green bar that says "the information was saved correctly"
  • Select "Go to Media" (4)

Download the video to your computer
  • Select "Download" (1)
  • Under "Actions" select the download button (2)​

Your video will download to the default file download area of your computer.
