Open a new page and go to elearning.alliant.edu

Lets familiarize ourselves with this main page for a minute.
Starting from the top left (just under the Alliant logo) is the word "Home." At anytime, you want to go back to this main page, you can click on "home."
Just below is the "navigation" block.
My Home-if you are taking a course that contains Kaltura video you may use this. If not, you likely won't.
Site pages-if you click to expand this, you will see site blogs, tags, calendar, and site news.
**Lets focus on the two that you might find helpful, or at least interesting. The calendar automatically updates all of the assignments that are due in each course.
The next one is "tags." Click here to search fellow students by his or her tags, or interests. This is especially helpful if you are looking for a research partner. You can type in an area of interest and click search. Any other student who has listed that as an interest will appear.
My courses-if you click to expand it, you will see all of your courses listed top to bottom. If you simply click on the word itself, you will be taken to another page. *Note, you will not be able to see hidden courses here.
Settings Block (next blue block down)
The only thing you will see is the "my profile title." If you click on the title, it will be expanded out to show you a few more choices.
-Edit profile-here is where you can add those tags that we spoke of above. PLEASE do NOT try to change your email address or campus location. Do feel free to upload a picture here though.

Entering a course
If you click on any one of your courses, you should see something similar to what you see above. Don't panic if it doesn't look exactly the same. Not all professors manage their pages the same.
Notice how my mouse is over the syllabus for PSY7302. A double click will open the syllabus in a Word document. You can review the document, save it, print it, or just read it and close it. You will be able to refer back to the syllabus throughout the semester.
The next activity (below the PSY7302 syllabus) is what is usually called the New Forum. This professor has renamed it to Course Textbooks. Professors will sometimes post news here for student review.
The next box down is titled "week 1," the default setting is titled "topic 1." Some professors like to name them something unique, so don't expect the weeks to be in numerical order, or to even contain a number in the title.
In week one, you will see two documents. First, is a PDF file of a journal article. If you double click, the article will open. Again, you can read it, print it, etc.
Next is the Power Point lecture notes. Double clicking will open.
Have you tried opening a few on your own yet?
