Adding a Manual Gradebook Item to the Gradebook

Adding an item

1. Go to the gradebook and click on the Categories and items tab
   
2. Scroll to the bottom of the list of items and click the Add grade item button
   
3. Provide a name for the item
   
4. Adjust the Maximum grade and Grade category, if desired
   
5. Note: "Value" is the recommended setting for "Grade Type"Save changes
   

Grading a manually added item

1. Click on the gradebook's View tab
   
2. Click the Turn editing on button
   
3. Enter the grades into the appropriate cells
   
4. Hint: Use the Tab key to advance quickly from cell to cell
   
5. Click the Update button at the bottom of the gradebook whenever you want to commit your changes
