*Note-with the new JICS automated enrollment and course creation, professors do not need to request a course shell. The process for obtaining a new shell is described below.
1. Course is offered in the catalog
2. Students enroll. If enrollment quota is met, an instructor is assigned.
3. 24-48 hours after the instructor is assigned, the shell will be created.
Some of the challenges that we have seen with course shells are below.
1. Course is taught by an adjunct professor with an inactive/expired contract. Talk to your program director to ensure your contract is current.
2. Instructor has been notified that he or she is teaching the course, but that information was not entered into CX. Contact the AAS to ensure you have been added in CX as the professor. Sometimes CX indicates the course is taught by "staff." When this occurs, the course is not created.
