What is Moodle?
Moodle is a software package for producing Internet-based courses and web sites, guided by a social constructionist framework of education (aka course management system which can be used for online class delivery, group forums, internal training, sharing of resources, etc)
Social constructionist pedagogy assumes that the knowledge a student receives is produced by the groups to which he or she belongs, or by their particular discourse agreements. Social groups construct things for one another, collaboratively creating a small culture of shared artifacts with shared meanings.
Therefore, Moodle tools have an emphasis on: group work, collaboration, communication, sharing, activities, and critical reflection.
