Alliant Wireless Network Information

​Alliant University leverages enterprise technology from Cisco, Ruckus/Brocade, Wiflex, and Extreme Networks to provide Wi-Fi services to our campuses. We chose this combination as an industry leading platform for large scale business networks and it is ideal for management of a large scale mesh Wi-Fi network because it offers several key benefits that simplify the set up, management, and optimization of the network.

First and foremost, our tools provide a centralized management interface to configure, monitor, and troubleshoot all devices within the network. This means that our network administrators can manage the entire mesh network from a single location, to reduce the complexity of network management across so many campuses and access points.

Secondly, our network includes advanced features that are specifically designed for mesh networking. For example, auto-channel selection and AI based automatic load balancing and self-healing, which ensure that the network is always optimized for maximum performance. This means that network administrators don't have to worry about manually configuring the network for optimal performance, as our network tools will take care of this automatically.

Another key benefit of our network is the incorporation of advanced security features. The Alliant IT department is committed to your online privacy and security! In contrast to most public Wi-Fi access points, we utilize, role-based access control, intrusion detection and prevention, and advanced threat management, which help to protect the network from unauthorized access and malicious activity.
