Canvas Learning Management System (LMS)


Beginning January 1, 2021, all Alliant courses will be offered via Canvas.

For all students and faculty

​to access Alliant's Canvas instance, please go to: https://alliant.instructure.com
Use your full Alliant email address and password to access Canvas

For students

For faculty 
There are two types of Canvas courses: fully online courses and Canvas Companion.  Both types of courses use the same url.

Generally, fully online courses are on the term calendar.  These courses appear to you fully built by our curriculum team.  

Beginning with 2021, courses that were offered in Moodle will now be offered in Canvas Companion.  Like Moodle these courses are empty and you are able to construct the course as you wish.  The instructor guide for building your course in Companion can be found here: https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-10460-canvas-instructor-guide-table-of-contents


Continuing Education
Continuing Education courses are on a separate instance of Canvas.
The main Continuing Education Website: https://continuinged.alliant.edu
The Continuing Education Canvas instance:  https://alliantce.instructure.com
Your CE login is not the same as your Alliant login!
