If you have a different version than TeamViewer 12 currently installed, please uninstall it before you start the installation for version 12.
*Not under any circumstances should you upgrade TeamViewer to a newer version. It will break its functionality. Alliant has an Enterprise license for TeamViewer version 12 only.
Open a browser to: https://www.teamviewer.com/en-us/download/previous-versions/
Select the “TeamViewer 12 Version” tab and choose Windows ”TeamViewer”. The download will start automatically.

Select the “TeamViewer 12 Version” tab and choose Windows ”TeamViewer”. The download will start automatically.
Depending upon the browser you are using; the program will download in one of the sections below.
Select the downloaded program to start the installation process.
If you are using an Alliant computer, you might be prompted for Administrator credentials. In such case please contact the Alliant Helpdesk at [email protected] or 858.635.4355 for assistance.
Select “Installation to access the computer remotely (unattended)”, Select “Company / Commercial use”, and then Select “Accept – finish”.
Select “Next”.
Enter a unique password that you will remember. This password will be used to allow you to access this specific computer. Then select “Next”.
The Alliant IT department will provide you with a TeamViewer account. If you do currently not have one, please contact the Alliant IT helpdesk at [email protected] or 858.635.4355 for assistance. This account is not the same as your Alliant Email account and your Alliant credentials will not work.
The first time you enter your TeamViewer account credentials, you will receive the error message below. This is normal behavior for the software. Select “OK” and reenter your TeamViewer account credentials.
After you enter your credentials a second time, you will be prompted with the message below. Check your Alliant Email for a message asking to approve the newly added computer for remote access. This is done for security purposes.
The email format will be like the one below. You must select “Add to trusted devices” link, which will open a web page.
On the web page, select “Trust” to add your computer as a trusted device.
Once added, you will receive the confirmation message below.
Go back to the TeamViewer installation windows and select “Next”.
Select “Finish”.
When the installation is successful, you will be able to see the TeamViewer icon on your taskbar.
