After conducting our testing, please be aware that IBM SPSS is currently incompatible with the latest MacOS Sonoma release. This means that if you are planning to upgrade to MacOS Sonoma or have already done so, you may experience crashes or other issues when attempting to run IBM SPSS.
To address this situation, we would like to offer you several options:
- Wait for IBM to Release a New Version or Patch: IBM is likely aware of the compatibility issue and is working on a solution. We recommend keeping an eye on IBM's official website or announcements for updates regarding the release of a compatible version or patch for MacOS Sonoma. Please note that this may take some time, and we do not have control over IBM's development timeline.
- Stay with the Previous MacOS Release (Ventura): If you rely heavily on IBM SPSS for your coursework or research and cannot afford any disruptions, you may consider staying with the previous MacOS release, Ventura, until a compatible version or patch is made available. You can do this by refraining from updating your operating system.
- Use IBM SPSS in Our Library or Computer Labs: We have dedicated PC computers in our library and computer labs. These machines are equipped with IBM SPSS, and you are welcome to use them for your data analysis needs. Our staff will be available to assist you with any questions or issues you may encounter.
